Best Ultrasound Picture EVER!

The kids think it's pretty funny that both the babies are squished together in my tummy. They especially find it funny because depending on their postitions, sometimes the babies' faces might be sitting next to the other one's buns. The boys find this hilarious because that means the babies are "tooting" in each other's face. Well, at my last doctor's visit, we didn't have a full ultrasound but we did happen to get a great picture. One we thought the kids would absolutely love! Yes, that is Baby B's face smashed right up into Baby A's buns!! Poor little guy. There really isn't much room in there! I have to admit, Mike and I were laughing pretty hard when she showed us this view in the ultrasound. I guess twins really do share everything!

Back to school

Back to school for me doesn't just mean getting new school clothes, new shoes, or even new school supplies, but mostly it's just one more reminder of how quickly my children are growing. Sam started first grade today. No, this year I wasn't a big baby, and I didn't shed a tear - though maybe I wanted to. But, the hard part was just how independent she is getting. I only asked her about 10 times if she wanted me to take her into school, and each time she said no, she could handle it on her own. She knows exactly what she wants to wear and how she wants her hair, and if I try to insist on something different, it only causes an argument. This morning she wanted me to straighten her hair with my straightener, and tonight she wanted me to redo her nail polish so it was new for tomorrow. Honestly, I thought this stuff would come a lot later. I know she is only 6, but I just feel like she is growing up way to fast, faster than I want her to anyway. In some ways I'm so grateful she is getting so big and so independent - like the days she wants to make breakfast for everyone, or clean the house for me. I have to admit, that is pretty nice, but still, there are just some things I'm not ready for, and I know it will only get worse! At least she still likes to play with Barbies and cuddle with me, and still asks me to make up stories at night. It's those kinds of things that lets me know she will still be my baby for at least a little longer. I'll take whatever I can get.

Happy Birthday, Gavin & Kaden!

Last Tuesday was my little boys 4th birthday! I can't believe how big they are - they are still my little babies! It just doesn't seem so long ago that we were anxiously waiting for them to be big enough and strong enough to come home with us from the hospital. Everything about them has been quite the journey for us! First from the shocking news that we were having twins, to their unexpected early arrival and prolonged hospital stay, to dealing with the daily life of these 2 little headstrong personalitites. They have been both a trial and a huge joy to us, and we couldn't imagine our lives without these two little adventures. I definitely believe they were sent to our home to teach us patience and humility!!!! They both love to test mom anyway possible, and usually at the same time, in opposite directions. They love to be together and when one wakes up and notices the other is missing, gets pretty upset until they find their brother. They both love to make people laugh, and ham it up whenever they can. Kaden is my super stubborn one, determined to test mommy to her limits, but the next second is as sweet as can be helping clean up toys and smothering me with kisses. Gavin is still stubborn, but not as much as his brother. He is a little more tender-hearted, but at the same time likes to throw a good tantrum now and then. He isn't so much for cleaning up, but is very sweet and tender and loves to please mommy - when he's in the mood. Both have the cutest smiles and the sweetest laughs. My day would definitely be boring without them and all their crazy schemes - lot less stressful, but definitely boring!
Last Saturday we had a birthday party for the boys, their very first one! They invited all of their little friends and had fun at a little tumble place. It was the perfect place for a boy's birthday party! A bunch of boys running around and going crazy, it was great! Mom didn't have to do a thing but show up with cupcakes! We even got them some crowns to wear (they HAD to have one since Sami had one at her party) and called themselves the "Birthday Kings". So, ever since that day, they have been riding their new Spider-man scooters non-stop and I have two little "Bumblebees" running around, shooting me every chance they get. They are two crazy boys, but I guess they take after their mother so I can't blame them too much, and I have to admit, I love them to death!

Happy Birthday, little munchkins!

Now you tell me!!

A friend emailed this to me a little bit ago and it was just too funny not to share. Like I said, Now you tell me! I really should have seen this a long time ago, but I guess it's a little late now! :) Enjoy!

A bit of this...A bit of that, and Baby Names

Ok, so of course things come and go, and I'm always a bit behind. What else is new! :) So, to start off, Happy 4th of July! Hopefully everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed some time with family and friends. We were able to spend the day with Mike's brother and his family for a good old American BBQ! Of course I forgot my camera, but I'm trying to remind myself that it's ok if I don't document every moment of the kids lives with a picture. After the BBQ we came back to Parker for the fireworks show. We didn't feel like walking down to the crowds, so we got the kids all geared up in jammies, took out the back seat of the car, and found a spot where they could watch from the back of the van. We really lucked out and got a great spot - even though we arrived only an hour before the show started. The show was great, and of course the kids loved it, but the best part for Mike and I, was watching the kids tell everyone they couldn't see if anyone dared stand in front of them. It worked pretty well too. As soon as the kids said anything, they all moved right away. Those 3 can definitely take care of themselves, we didn't ever have to say a thing! It really was pretty funny.

Now, just for laughs, I have to include this little picture I had from the other day. To preface, when my mom was here in May, she had the brilliant idea of moving time-out from the stairs to the corner. Really, how come I didn't think of it sooner! It works great, and the kids hate it, so they do anything so the time out will end quickly! Well, the boys are there quite often, shocking I know, and sometimes at the same time. I got this picture the other day of them and just laugh every time I see it. It's just great! Thanks for the awesome idea, mom!
People ask us all the time if we've thought of names for the babies yet. The funny thing is, we could come up with girl names in no time, but boy names are pretty difficult for us. The kids, however, have been really helpful in giving us their opinions on what they think we should name the babies. So here are the winners so far:
Optimus Prime and Bumblebee
Luke and Anikan
Spider-Man and Batman
Jafar and Aladdin
Harry Potter and Ron
Phineas and Ferb
Thing 1 and Thing 2

I think we'll keep working on it!
